Circus EVO is a Contemporary Circus Company based in the Triad in North Carolina. Our Mission is to EVOke Emotions and EVOlve Circus Arts. Our unique creative process empowers and brings together artists of all backgrounds and disciplines.

Circus EVO was founded in October of 2020 with a bold vision to transform urban spaces into vibrant stages, bridging the gap between art and the community. Over the past few years, we have emerged as a dynamic force, dedicated to delivering high-quality, multi-disciplinary performances to the streets and beyond.

Three years later and Circus EVO has performed more than 45 times for thousands of people across North Carolina and even in Canada, supporting more than 50 Artists and Creatives in the process.
Meet the Team
Chinese Pole
Cheya Potter
Cheya Potter started her circus journey at the age of twelve in the world of youth circus. There she was able to explore a variety of disciplines and was exposed to frequent performance opportunities. By the time she had started high school Cheya dived head over heels into her love for circus and eventually found her way to Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour where she toured for three consecutive summers. Knowing she wanted to pursue a career in circus arts, after finishing high school Cheya attended Necca’s Protrack Program (2017-2019). There she began her ongoing relationship with Chinese pole studying under Sandra Feusi. Since graduating she has worked with Cirque du Soleil on their touring show Ovo and was a part of the original creation of the chinese pole act. Most recently she completed her second contract of Duel Reality a Seven Fingers show that tours aboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady.

Kyran Lee Walton
Kyran is a St. Louis Missouri native and has been a part of the circus since 2009. He started at Circus Harmony and a few years later became a member of their Elite troop, The St. Louis Arches. Kyran has performed in various disciplines including, Banquine, Hand to Hand, Contortion, Hand-Balancing, Juggling, Unicycle, Flying trapeze, etc. Kyran also is a graduate from the National Circus School in Montreal Canada, majoring in Hand to Hand/handbalancing. In the past 13+ years, Kyran has performed all over the world, including Israel, Switzerland,Puerto Rico, Monte Carlo, Montreal, Washington D.C and more. His style of performance combines aspects of traditional and contemporary circus along with dance components.

Reagan Gales
Reagan Gales is a pre-professional dancer and choreographer currently based in Winston-Salem, NC. At age ten, she began her dance journey at Greensboro Dance Theatre, a regional
competition studio. In 2021, she became a student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she has showcased her talent in several repertory pieces, including There is a
Time by José Limón and original works by Brenda Daniels, Abdur-Rahim Jackson, and Wesley Williams. Earning her BFA in contemporary Dance, she has trained in Limón, Cunningham, Countertechnique, West African, Ballet, Improvisation, and Composition. Known for her strong work ethic and open-minded approach, Reagan has broadened her horizons and supplemented her training at UNCSA through various experiences. Notable
among these are her summers at Broadway Artists Alliance in 2022 and 2023, where she expanded her network within the Broadway community and challenged herself by delving into
singing and dancing original Broadway choreography. While Reagan hopes to perform on Broadway, she remains open to any opportunities that come her way, eagerly embracing the chance to explore different styles of dance.
Chinese Pole
Ron Oppenheimer
Growing up in California, Ron trained in gymnastics and dance. At 8 years old, he fell in love with circus and decided to pursue it as a professional career. Ron joined San Francisco Circus Center’s Youth Circus at age 10 where he was introduced to Chinese acrobatics such as Chinese pole and hoop diving by Master Lu Yi. In 2019, Ron graduated from École Nationale de Cirque in Montréal specializing in Chinese pole and aerial rope. He discovered an approach to circus that combined his dance background with his circus technique in order to create fluid movements and blend the two together. He also focuses on flying pole, aerial straps, and acro-dance. Since graduating, Ron has participated in multiple circus festivals and live television shows including Georgia’s Got Talent. He has played principal character roles in numerous productions including Cirque du Soleil’s 'Amaluna', 'Amora', and ‘Twas The Night Before', as well as Cirque Éloize’s 'Les Géants'. Ron now specializes in flying pole and Chinese pole, as well as acrobatics, aerial rope and straps.
Diabolo
Willem McGowan
Willem taught himself how to juggle in 2006, and has been honing his skills ever since. He graduated from the Québec Circus School in 2017 and has since travelled the world with different circus companies, including The 7 Fingers, Circus Monti and Circus Bella. Willem currently lives in Las Vegas with his girlfriend Lindsay and their chihuahua Pogo.
Show Director
Houston Odum
Houston Odum is a Circus Director from North Carolina, U.S. He founded the Activate Entertainment Project (Now Circus EVO) amidst the Pandemic in October of 2020 in order to provide meaningful, live experiences which are accessible to the public in North Carolina and beyond. Since its founding, Circus EVO has produced popup performances, large outdoor productions, and full-length theatrical shows. Houston’s creative process empowers and brings together artists of all backgrounds and disciplines.
Composer/Singer
Bella Nona
Durham-based singer and composer Bella Nona has over a decade of deep roots performing in the Triangle area. Her performances can be heard busked in the streets of downtown Durham or on the stages of the Cat’s Cradle and the Haw River Ballroom. She is currently part of the artist collective OnlyUs and performs her original material around the triangle. A songbird of many different genres, her sound spans neo-soul, bossa nova, indie rock, and dark folk. Her debut album Goddess Complex can heard on all major streaming platforms.
Dance
David Gouldin
David Gouldin is a pre professional dancer and choreographer currently based in Winston Salem NC and Upstate New York. At age 13, he began training at Perkins School of the Arts in Norwich NY. He then transferred to University of North Carolina School of the Arts for his junior and senior years of high school. After graduating high school in 2022 he is now pursuing his B.F.A in contemporary dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. David's curiosity and boundless passion for exploration have propelled him to craft, inspire, and innovate his own unique perspective on dance. He is very grateful for the opportunity to perform with Circus Evo, and to be a part of the intersection of different performing arts.
Choreographer
Mack Longley
MACK LONGLEY (She/They), originally from Southington, Connecticut started their dance training at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts during their high school years. There she was introduced to dance, studying under Alexa Melonopoulos-Fleury, Jeanne and Thomas Giroir, Linda Burns, and Kim Stroud. Their education at GHAA included Cunningham, Vaganova, ballet, Graham, and Laban/Bartenieff techniques. Mack is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and in the spring will receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Contemporary Dance and minoring in Arts Entrepreneurship. Their dance education at UNCSA has included training in Cunningham, West African, Limón, and Countertechnique. Mack is also working for UNCSA’s ArtsitCorps, which is a community engagement organization that provides arts instruction and integration to K-12 students and senior citizens in the Winston-Salem community. Throughout their dance journey, they’ve had the privilege to perform works by Merce Cunningham, Alwin Nikolais, Stephen Pier, Fredrick Earl Mosley, Jose Limón, Ming-Lung Yang, Andrew Harper, and Anthony Lee Bryant. Mack has a passion for social justice dance theater and has interned with the Justice Dance Performance Project based in Hartford, Connecticut under artistic director and founder Judy Dworin. She hopes to continue their dance career post graduation through performance, choreography, and community arts education and curation.

Nick Buynitzky
Nick Buynitzky is a dancer, acrobat, and movement artist from Raleigh, North Carolina. Through his early exposure to gymnastics and tumbling, Nick gained a passion for movement and physical activity at a young age. After years of competitive trampoline and power tumbling, he found a new fascination in combining the creativity and expression of dance with the tricks of gymnastics training. In 2021, Nick graduated Summa Cum Laude from Needham B. Broughton High School. There, under the instruction and mentorship of Betsy Graves, he gained several skills in dance and choreography. Currently, Nick is pursuing a BFA in contemporary dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where he has been very fortunate to perform and work with several talented choreographers and dancers.

Lullaby Wash
A Greensboro based multi-instrumtalist studying jazz guitar at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to their enrollment at UNCG they studied jazz while busking full-time in New Orleans, where they developed their voice as a performer and improviser. Here, they combine elements of jazz, R&B, and samba (along with Julian Lambert, Tyler Monroe, and Bella Nona) to create a bespoke atmospheres for, and accentuate the narrative of Circus Evo's "IGNITE".
Keyboard
Julian Lambert
Julian is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Carrboro, NC, with a strong background in jazz. His music artfully combines elements of jazz, hip hop, R&B, and modern electronic sounds. Julian has showcased his talents at prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center during the Essentially Ellington High School Band Competition and has also recorded with notable artists like Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band. His debut single, "Up and Up," produced alongside LA's Daniel Hayn and featuring Nord keyboard sponsor Jay Verma, is available on all streaming services.
